Using Your Email Accounts with Outlook Express

Step 1: Start up Outlook Express

Begin the process by starting up Outlook Express.

Either double-click the icon on your desktop, or select it from the Windows Start Menu.

Step 2: Go to the Tools Menu

Once in Outlook, go to the Tools Menu.

Click on the option labelled "accounts".

Step 2

Step 3: Create a New Account

From the resulting screen, choose "add".

You are wishing to set up a new email account, so select the "mail" option".

Step 4: Choose your Display Name

You will now be prompted to choose your display name.

Your display name is the name your contacts will see when in receipt of a mail from you. Choose a name that will be widely recognised by the people you will be emailing.

Step 5: Specify your Email Address

You will now be prompted to enter your email address.

Here, you should specify the email address you are currently setting up and NOT another existing email address you may possess.

Step 6: Specify your Server Names

Next, Outlook will ask you for the servers you wish to use to send and receive email.

Incoming (POP3) server: mail.tamba.co.uk

Outgoing (SMTP) server: You will need to contact your Internet dialup provider to find out this server name.

Step 7: Provide your Security Details

Outlook will now ask you for your security information.

The usernames and passwords for your accounts are sent from TAMBA to yourself by email. Please locate this email and fill in the relevant fields accordingly.

Please ensure that "Log on using secure password authentication" is NOT ticked.

Step 7

Step 8: Mission Accomplished!

Congratulations. Your email account has been successfully set up. You should now be able to send and receive emails.

If you have multiple email accounts, please return to step 1 and set each up individually.
